In Search of Good French Coffee in Grenoble

Grenoble. Here I am. A Russian student, who likes France and delicious food.
Grenoble is a very multi-faceted city: on the one hand - a typical French town with narrow streets, architecture, and the monotonous life; on the other hand - a city where the hum with life, as most of the population are visitors (cause of skiing) and students. Authentic and modern all rolled into one. Overall - a pleasant town with a good atmosphere.

France. Many people love it for the cozy cafes and restaurants. And Grenoble fully supports the proper glory of their country. So to come here and do not visit the restaurant and then did not have a cup of coffee or hot chocolate at a local cafe - just unimaginable.

H’m, I want coffee. So, I need to find a good place with best coffee. Internet will help me.

Aha. I discover it. Cafe "Round Table" (Café de la Table Ronde), which housed one of the squares of the old city. This is the second duration of its existence cafe in France. It appeared in 1739 and since then operates to this day.

  1. Well, I visited it yesterday.

To be honest I visited the cafe not only to drink coffee. Of course I had dinner there.
Suggesting that this cafe can be a very popular, I came at exactly 19:30. Fortunately free tables were in the cafe.

Atmosphere: pleasant place, surrounded by the sights (if we forget that the cafe itself is a tourist attraction). Typical French cafe, the place where you can spend time in pleasant company.
Near to me were some people who came to eat (1 table for 5 people, 1 table for 1 person), and 2 companies, which came “to combine business with pleasure" (1 table for 5 persons, drinking white wine, and a table for 7 people - drinking beer, no snacks). I concluded that this cafe is a place to have fun.

Wi-Fi: I did not use the wi-fi because I came for dinner, not to have snack.

Food: Delicious. I, like any Russian, of course, ordered the foie gras. Tasty!
In addition "Kidney of veal in savoury pie madeira sauce" and "Tepid Tatin pie and its cream" was in menu "LE CHEVALIER BAYARD à 32 €".

In mind that I wanted to tast coffee, I ordered it of course. The coffee was delicious. Super!

Conclusion: I highly recommend. Suitable for both companies, and for singles, couples. If you want to experience the atmosphere of French cuisine this cafe is very good place.

    Salut!
    Tanya
